OUR HISTORY

We are Hunter's!

For the last 50 years, we’ve been honored to serve our community with delicious meals in a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere. We are excited to share that Hunter’s is now under new ownership and will be rebranded as Hunter Hut.

Our goal is to continue offering top-notch meals made from the finest ingredients, including fresh halal options, to delight every palate. Our updated menu features a diverse selection of traditional Canadian and Mediterranean dishes, along with exciting fusion food that brings together flavors from around the world—perfect for any time of day—breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Many of our customers view Hunter’s Family Restaurant as their second home, and we are dedicated to maintaining that family-friendly vibe. Our passionate team is here to provide outstanding food and attentive service. With a fully licensed, air-conditioned space, we invite you to experience a memorable meal with us.

I lived in scarbrouh during 96-2003 and would often go here for lunch as a middle and high school student at nearby Stephen Leacock. This place is a old school scarbrough institution. Back then as a broke student I used to get the large cheese pizza slices that were pretty good, $2.50 I think and the poutine sometimes. Well I went back 15 some odd years later and ordered a meat pizza and souvlaki. Both were delicious the pizza was very cheesy with generous toppings. This is an old school type Greek restaurant in scarbrough place that reminds me of my childhood, good quality food at reasonable prices. I live in Markham now but visit here when I’m in the area.

Went for breakfast now that the restaurant has reopened under new management and refurbishing. Interior is now quite nice. The staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. They have a HUGE variety of breakfast choices. All our breakfast meals were fabulous. Eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked and prepared. Other dishes were excellent as well. The home fries are particularly noteworthy. Very hard to find great home fries these days. Portions are large. Prices really reasonable. Highly recommended.

Noticed a sign out front advertising early bird special yesterday so I thought I would try them. Nice thick bacon, moist sausages, eggs cooked exactly as asked. I took it home for take out and was pleasantly surprised with the tiny fruit salad sampler. Wait staff was polite. Definitely will try again.

They recently did a catering order for us for BBQ Meatballs and French Fries for 200 guests. The food arrived on time, was hot fresh and we got many compliments for taste. Would definitely order again. Give them a try they are under new management.

This is a really great family diner style restaurant. The new owners have done a excellent job with the food , the hospitality and the service , the place is freshened up and spotless ! We had an excellent breakfast and I was really impressed by the quality of the food ( so difficult to find a proper breakfast these days ) . I highly recommend this place and will be back for certain!
BRADLEY MULLIGAN
Neighbourhood stalwart for decades and the original anchor of this tiny plaza filled with good eats galore. The star of the show is the dough they use on their pitas and pizza, its soft with the right give. The beef and lamb was pretty good with good tzatziki sauce. They still have specials for the Leacock students just south of them. #supportlocal
